The Dawin Bangkok Hotel is located halfway down on Sukhumvit soi 4, just where it begins to quiet down from all the noise and crowds of hookers and punters associated around Nana Plaza. So the Dawin is an ideal place to stay in when you don't want to be less than a 5 minute walk from bar girls, street hookers and cold beers.

I've been recommending the Dawin since it first opened in 2008 to all of my friends who wanted a clean modern hotel room. But it hasn't quite made it to my Top 5 Nana Hotel list because there are other places to stay on and around soi 4 that are a better value. That's not to say that the Dawin is not worth the money. Compared to the hotels I've stayed in the West within the same price range, the Dawin is an excellent value.

However, what might be off putting to some is that their cheapest rooms which are called the standard rooms are small at 23 square meters. Sure for one or 2 guests that's not bad. But considering that the price of their standard room cost about 1950THB plus taxes and no breakfast is a major reason why they are not on my favorite Nana hotel list. And it doesn't help that their superior rooms which is the next grade up is only 27 square meter and cost a few hundred Baht more.

Despite the fact I know a lot of guys who I have recommended the Dawin to consistently go back. They enjoy the hotels service and friendly staff and most importantly the location and proximity to Nana's nightlife.

One final note I have to add is you might have read on Tripadvisor from a member that the Dawin charged a joiner fee. But if you look at the end of the comment you'll see that the member traveled as a couple.

Thank you so much for your interest in our hotel, and we would like to inform you that the room maximum for 2 persons, this mean you can bring one guest no charge, additional adult 500 baht would be charge. And also she must leave ID card at the main desk.
