My 2013 Top Bangkok Hotel Picks For All Budgets

A bit of daytime action found between Sukhumvit Soi 5 and Soi 7
Following up on a bunch of questions I've answered on a previous post here's a list of hotels I would personally stay at a certain price range. I've been to all of these girl friendly hotels either staying at one personally or having friends who've stayed there so I had a good chance to take a good look at the hotels I mention below.

And all of them are right in the Sukhumvit area. I've had a few people inquiring about Patpong girl friendly hotels but to be quite honest, there really is no need to stay in that location. Just get a hotel in Sukhumvit because there's plenty more to do especially if you're seeking out daytime action. Because I know a lot of guys are asking where to find hookers for an afternoon delight in Bangkok.

Well you can always head over to the Nana Hotel car park, up and down Sukhumvit soi 4 and of course right between Sukhumvit soi 5 to soi 7.

I have nothing against Patpong of course. It's just a matter of convenience. You can always take the Sky Train whether you're staying near Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy and get to Patpong in about 15 to 20 minutes. Take the MRT subway train at the Sukhumvit station to Silom station and you're just short a 5 minute walk to Patpong.

So I'm offering my personal hotel selections on this blog post because I receive a lot of emails from guys who don't know which hotel to pick that have no joiner fees. Because there's so many fricking choices especially when they look at my list of gf hotels in the Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza area.

Even though I have my own cozy place to run out my clock in Bangkok I still book hotels closer to the city's red light districts. Because it's much more convenient for me whenever my friends come over for a visit to hangout and drink myself silly with my best friends.

Plus if my neighbors catch me with a hooker I'd be the pariah of the neighborhood and parents would be pulling their kids away when they see me. I just don't want that type of attention. Oh yeah, Thais in townhouse communities are just as proficient in gossiping as us white folks. Sometimes a bit way too nosy too.

Anyways I have narrowed down a short list of hotels. I chose these hotels as if I was coming to Bangkok as a newbie with a set budget in mind. Below you'll find a hotel I recommend along the sois of Sukhumvit road from 1000THB like the plain yet adequate Orchid Place to mid range hotels like my highly recommended Majestic Grande, both are just a few minutes walk to Nana Plaza.

Be advised that the recommended hotels prices will fluctuate plus or minus a few hundred Baht depending on the season. This is especially true for upmarket hotels like the Grand Centre Point Sukhumvit that I recommend below.

Orchid Place on Sukhumvit soi 6
The cheapest guest friendly hotel on this list is the Orchid Place which is priced at around 1000THB per night for a standard room. It's all basic and no frills but the location is the real advantage.

If all I had was a 1000THB to spend a night in Bangkok this hotel would be it. Because it's just around the corner from Nana Plaza and the Nana Hotel car park for freelance hookers.

Now I have never stayed at the Orchid personally but I have seen the rooms of friends who have and they look clean for a cheapie hotel.

Sure, the hotel looks like a dump from the outside but if all you're worried about is sleeping in a clean room and the ability to bring hookers to your room without a hassle then the Orchid Place will suffice.

Heaven @ Hotel on Sukhumvit soi 4 - This is a superior room
Heaven@4 Hotel is another cheapie place to stay. Sometimes I see hookers standing outside of the hotel's bar. This is the hotel where most of my friends on a budget stay because so far there is a book 4 nights pay for 3 deal if you make a booking through my reservation website here.

The total including taxes is only 4500THB. No breakfast mind you but there's plenty of places to eat on Sukhumvit soi 4. Heaven@4 is another no frills hotel. It's clean and adequate. Nana Plaza is close with a short walk as well as all the other honeys to check out nearby.

I've never stayed at the Heaven@4 either, but again my friends have and I have seen their rooms and for the price it's well worth it. Don't be surprised if there are no rooms available if you're trying to get a room. So be sure to book ahead of time.

DI Place - Very near NEP's go go bars
Now if I want to stay in a newer hotel that is less than a 3 minute walk from Nana Plaza check out the budget DI Place Hotel. You can expect to spend a little over 1200THB for an 18 sq meter room.

There are also a few Thai prostitutes, some are ladyboys if that's what you're looking for standing by the entrance of the soi leading to the hotel. And of course you have the option of just crossing across soi 4 to Nana Hotel for even more ladies to check out. Check out current rates for DI Place because it's very reasonable.

Boss Suites Nana Hotel
If I can spare 1500THB per night then it's a real no brainer. I would stay at the Boss Suites Hotel in a heart beat. Which I have in numerous occassions.

This hotel is located further down Sukhumvit soi 4 from the hotels mentioned above. If you walk from the hotel to Nana Plaza it would probably take about 10 minutes. Or you can simply use the hotel's free one way tuk tuk service.

This is one of my favorite 3 star hotels in the area because there's a nice little pool and a tiny gym. Every time my friends have stayed there it seems like nobody ever uses the facilities. Anyways, this is a good hotel and but because it's so popular and even though it's only 4 years old it is seeing some wear and tear. I noticed it just recently while my friends were staying there.

Besides that tiny nit pick, Boss Suites is a fantastic hotel that only cost between 1500THB to 1600THB. If you're lucky and check through Agoda.com it might also include a coupon for morning buffet breakfast.

Majestic Grande
For the guys who have a little more to spend and want to stay near Nana Plaza, perhaps one of the best 4 star guest friendly hotel from that location is the Majestic Grande.

It's really a nice hotel and ever since it opened back in 2004 I have been raving about it. Even though it's only 10 years old the Majestic G has been renovated just this year. It's a good looking hotel, very comfortable with nicely decorated rooms. Only drawback is it has a small pool and even smaller gym.

Annie's Soapy Massage is right across the soi if you think that's a benefit. I prefer heading to Huay Kwang for body to body soapies.

Anyways if you book in advance for a minimum of 3 nights there is an early bird 20% off discount good until June 30th, 3013 and you can check if there are any rooms available here with discounts at the Majestic Grande. I just stayed there last month for a week. Check out the lunch buffet on the 7th floor. Just 300THB flat and you get an excellent spread of international and Thai food to gorge yourself.

Finally, whenever I want to splurge a bit on a hotel room I head right to the Grande Center Point Sukhumvit. One night will set you back about 3700THB with taxes and if you've got the cash it's all well worth it. The hotel location is simply amazing but I'm too tired to write more. I wrote a review post here so you can check it out.

So there it is. If you have a hard time figuring out where you want to stay I've done the hard part of narrowing all the hotel information down. All of the hotels mentioned above are near a lot of action, go go bars, massage parlors, street hookers, you name it. Plus the BTS Nana Sky Train and MRT subway train station Sukhumvit are also near these hotels.

If you're wondering why there are no recommendations of hotels that cost less 300THB or so is because I personally don't know anyone who wants to stay in a room that cheap. Hell, I don't even know if there are places that cheap in Sukhumvit. Even if there are, I can't vouch for the cleanliness nor safety. And know it'll be a tiny room with no air conditioning. Trust me, it is hot in Bangkok especially as of writing.

And check back for my top Pattaya hotel choices.

Nantra Sukhumvit 39 Bangkok Hotel Review

The Nantra is a chain of growing budget hotels throughout Bangkok. A few of them are located strategically near the red light districts.

This particular Nantra hotel can be found on Sukhumvit soi 39, just a couple of minutes walk from the Emporium Mall and the Phrom Phong BTS Sky Train station stair entrance.

Phrom Phong is an area practically synonymous with oily massage parlors that line most of the odd numbered Sukhumvit sois starting from soi 31 and ending around on Soi 26 where Angel Massage is.

So the Nantra is right in the middle of all the greasy oily action so you have a choice of either just showing up at the shops or take advantage of the in-call service which all establishments provide for lazy guys who don't want to leave their rooms.

And since it is guest friendly you need not worry about getting smacked with a joiner fee when you bring back the bar girl of the night to your room.

Nantra's rooms are not expensive considering the neighborhood it is in. Sure there are loads of sex shops to mess around in but it's also sort of a ritzy residential area with high class hotels and condos scattered around.

And there are a few budget hotels in the Phrom Phong and this is certainly one of them. As of writing, Agoda is offering a 40% discount on their 20 square meter economy rooms. With taxes and simple breakfast this tiny little room is all yours for a measly 1000THB a night.

Want to live it up a little for 150THB more? There is also a 50% discount for the 23 square meter so with taxes and breakfast the total is round 1150THB.

But here's a fair warning. Even though the Nantra is only a few years old, signs of shoddy workmanship are becoming present. And you can sure bet that the hotel's profits are not going into hiring the best from Bangkok's work pool.

That said, I know the Nantra Suk 39 has a lot of simple qualities most single visitors to Bangkok's naughty nightlife needs. A clean bed, shower, air condition and a free breakfast treat in the morning. Plus free internet access so a guest can surf porn and spank their monkey when a bar girl is asking for too much money.

For your reference, here is the hotel's guest friendly confirmation:
Dear Mr.jim,

We not charge but in room maximum 2 person. And please take care your things by your self or please inform to your joiner keep ID card to reception on arrival.

Thank you very much.

If you have any assistant please do not hesitate to contact directly me.

This Week's Best Bar Girl Friendly Bangkok Hotel Specials

This week there are 7 hotels I recommend that are guest friendly in Bangkok. The first 4 are right between Nana and Soi Cowboy, so right in Sukhumvit district. Most of the best deals I found for this week are for high end hotels.

For example the 5 star JW Marriott on Sukhumvit soi 2 currently has a 20% discount. I made a review on the JW on my last post here and saw an uptick on bookings. I really had no idea it was such a popular hotel because all this time I've been recommending Thai run hotels which are not as expensive even though the quality of Thai operated hotels are very good. I wouldn't be surprised that if it might had something to do with the fact that the JW Marriott has no problems with guests bringing 2 ladies to their rooms at the same time...

There are 2 hotels I recommend in the Huay Kwang district and close to a lot of soapy massage parlors. If you're not familiar with Huay Kwang it's a good place to stay in Bangkok. It's not crowded and packed like most places in Sukhumvit. And there are MRT subway stations in Huay Kwang and near the hotels I recommend so there's no problem at all if you want to get to Soi Cowboy, Nana and even Patpong red light district quickly.

Finally 1 hotel I recommend is closer to Patpong and because there's such a big discount it deserves a worthy mention.

Hotel Deals in Sukhumvit District

Deluxe room at JW Marriott
JW Marriott Bangkok as I mentioned before has a 20% discount. Nana Plaza's go go bars are not far off, less than a 3 minute walk.

Lots of hookers on soi 4 so there's plenty of nightlife options to keep you busy.

With the discount and taxes included the cost for a deluxe room is about 5500THB ($179USD). And that's a really good price for a 5 star Western affiliated hotel chain. Not exactly sure when this special is over.

Standard room at City Lodge 9
City Lodge 9 is centered between Nana and Soi Cowboy on Sukhumvit soi 9. The hotel is in decent shape but it's managed by a top hotel chain called the Amari Group.

But I know a lot of guys who like to stay there because the location is so good. You're never too far off from a oil massage parlor or a place to get a beer and pick up Thai hookers. And the Nana BTS station is just a short distance away.

Right now a 24 square meter standard room including breakfast cost 1100THB ($36USD) with taxes. This discount is valid until October, 31 2012.

The Manhattan Hotel on Sukuhumvit soi 15 is also in a good location too. It's closer to Soi Cowboy and a there are Thai prostitutes lingering right on Sukhumvit road. But one of the best pick up joints is around the corner in the basement bar of the Ruamchitt Hotel called Thermae.

This is a decent hotel but since it is a very popular budget hotel in the area it has seen a lot of wear and tear. But it is a big property and properly maintained and the location is what really draws guests.

Right now there is a discount for a standard room and cost about 1450THB ($48USD) with taxes. This special ends on October, 31 2012.

For guys who stay in Bangkok weeks at a time here's a very good special I recommend for President Park Hotel on Sukhumvit soi 24.

There's a stay 7 nights get 30% off per night discount. Anyone familiar with the President Park knows that is a fantastic deal because it's a 4 star hotel.

The rate applies to a standard room which is 36 square meters. And the hotel has a nice swimming pool and a decent fitness center. So with the discounts a room comes out to about 1800THB ($59USD) per night which also includes breakfast.

This deal will last quite awhile so need to rush a reservation.

Hotel Discounts near Huay Kwang Soapy Massage Parlors

The Emeral Hotel in Huay Kwang
The Emerald Hotel is a big 4 star property sitting near a cluster of soapy massage parlors. Emmanuelles, Nataree and Caesars just to name a handful are really close to the Emerald.

The Huay Kwang MRT subway station is a 5 minute walk past the mentioned soapie parlors so you can get to Sukhumvit quickly in about 15 minutes.

With a 20% discount and taxes you can stay in a superior room for about 1900THB ($62USD)

Other than the soapies near the hotel there really isn't much else. Though I have seen quite a few prostitutes standing outside the massage establishments.

Hip Hotel - Highly Recommended!
A little further down from the Emerald is the Hip Hotel. I've made review here just a short while ago and it's still by far one of the best budget hotels in Huay Kwang.

And with the current special rate going on for the hotel I highly recommend staying there because it's such a good value.

For 1500THB ($50USD) you get a 35 square meter room called the Cool Studio with taxes and breakfast included. Though there is no pool or gym and Wi-Fi is not free which really sucks. But either way, if you want a very clean and affordable hotel near soapy massages then the Hip Hotel is tops in my book.

An Excellent Hotel with Big Discounts near Patpong Red Light District

Bedroom at Lebua's Superior Suite
A hotel featured in the movie Hangover 2 called the Lebua at State Tower has a big 50% off discount with breakfast included.

Now I've always recommend staying in a hotel near Nana or Soi Cowboy. But ever so often there are deals for hotels in Bangkok with a guest friendly reputation too good to pass up.

The Lebua is about a 20 minute walk to Patpong's go go bars. I would just take a taxi to Patpong or even to Soi Cowboy and Nana. Wouldn't cost a lot of money especially if you can afford to stay at this hotel.

Right now the 50% off discount applies to their 66 square meter Superior Suite room types which cost about 4500THB ($147USD) per night with taxes and breakfast included. And the Lebua is a 5 star hotel which is why those rates are such a steal. The only catch is this deal is over at the end of this month.

Manhattan Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok Review

The Hotel Manhattan is located on Soi 15 and is a popular bar girl friendly choice. It's about 50 meters past the S15 Hotel Bangkok which is another place to stay that won't charge a joiner fee on Sukhumvit road.

And the hotel location is excellent as the usual suspects of adult oriented entertainment are in easy walking distance. Soi Cowboy's go go bars are about a 5 minute walk and Nana Plaza's go go bars are just another short 10 minute or so stroll.

Darlings Soapy Massage is right across Sukhumvit road down Soi 12 and Lollipop blow job bar is also right across on Soi 10. Thermae bar just right around the corner from Manhattan Hotel is a popular pick joint for Thai freelancers. And by walking down to Soi 4 at night and you won't have any problems at all coming across prostitutes.

Superior room at Manhattan Hotel

The Manhattan hotel is surrounded by a lot of pricy hotels in Bangkok though their room rates are the most affordable. A 28 square meter superior room at the Manhattan cost about 1500THB ($50USD) per night with taxes and discounts included. Standard amenities are included with free Wi-Fi internet access.

The good point about staying at Manhattan Hotel is the location. The slight negative is that the rooms can be a real hit or miss. Since it's an older hotel that hasn't gone through any major renovations you might get a room that is less than desirable. But the hotel has 200 rooms. Which means if you're unhappy with the room given to you, you should ask for a new one.

Manhattan Hotel Bangkok on Sukhumvit Road
Besides being so close to many places to find bar girls and Thai freelancers, the Manhattan is in a great spot of exploring most of Bangkok.

There are 2 BTS stations not far from the hotel and the MRT subway train is on the entrance of the Terminal 21 Mall. So you can get up to Huay Kwang's soapy massage parlors fast and easy.

Of course the Manhattan Hotel is guest friendly too so you can invite ladies to your room with no joiner fee. Here is an email confirmation from the hotel for your reference:
Dear Jim Hunt,
We charge 500baht/person/night.If you made book superior double room. You will not charge for joiner.
Best Regards,
Thanakrit
As the email mentions as long as you book your room for 2 guests you won't be charged a joiner fee. In any case it won't cost extra. Check for discount rates and read more reviews for Manhattan Hotel Bangkok.

Legacy Express Bangkok Review

Here's another cool funky hotel right on Sukhumvit Soi 1 called the Legacy Express Bangkok that's been getting a lot of good reviews.

And being so close to Suk. Soi 1 means that the area is quieter but not too far from all the excitement. Nana Entertainment Plaza is right on Sukhumvit Soi 4 which is only a few minutes away. Soi Cowboy is approximately a 15 minute walk.

The Legacy Express opened its doors a few years ago. So it's still a brand new guest friendly hotel in Nana red light district. Taxi drivers shouldn't have a problem at all finding the hotel since the location is easy to reach. Plus the hotel is right between two BTS stations on Sukhumvit road called Ploen Chit station and Nana station.

So the hotel's location is great especially for single guys out on a night in Bangkok. Scores of Thai freelancers can be found on Sukhumvit Soi 4. Just north of Soi 4 is where Russian prostitutes are located. Right through to Soi 7 are the African contingent of hookers in the Arab quarters. And of course visiting Nana Plaza Entertainment's go go bars and beer bars is as easy as a short walk to the corner of Soi 4.

The Legacy is considered a 3 star hotel. Which is just right in terms of quality. But there's no pool or gym however. Though Annie's soapy massage is right on Sukhumvit Soi 2 if you want to play in water and some would consider a night of romping with a bar girl a workout.

Their most affordable rooms are the superior room types which are about 27 square meters big. And the rooms comes with modern touches including an in room safe and free Internet Wi-Fi access.

Superior room at Legacy Express Bangok
As of writing there is an early bird promotional rate provided by Agoda.com for around 1500THB including taxes. The price is just about right for a budget hotel in Nana. But since it's a new hotel it's totally worth it.

And the Legacy Express Hotel is guest friendly. Here's an email confirmation for your reference:
Dear Jim Hunt,
In regard to your query, you can bring your joiner fee to stay overnight without any charge.

Should you require more information please do not hesitate to contact us and looking forward to welcome and serve you soon
